World Book and Copyright Day is a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading.
Each year, on 23 April, celebrations take place all over the world to recognise the magical power of books – a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and across cultures. On this occasion, UNESCO and the international organizations representing the three major sectors of the book industry:
- Publishers
- Booksellers
- Libraries
The living through learning event:
Coronation Fund Managers donated 1000 storybooks to deliver to the foundation phase learners at 20 disadvantaged schools in the Western Cape. All of the 20 schools will read at 09:00 to create a massive reading celebration for World Book Day! All 20 schools are connected to the Living through Learning literacy programme and we encourage and love READING!
